KATHMANDU: The Nepal Democratic Civil Servants’ Trade Union on Thursday said the proposed Civil Service Act should be passed only after discussion with stakeholders. “We should not forget that earlier civil service acts were not practical and beneficial,” said the statement. Underlying the role of civil servants in Jana Andolan, it urged the government to take the issues of civil servants seriously as it is related with their career and security. The union has demanded an increase in the salary of civil servants and promotion for those who have served for 10 years or more.
