Assignment of cases to justices on draw system to begin Tuesday

KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 24

Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana has called a Full Court meeting of the Apex Court, including representatives of Nepal Bar Association, on Monday.

The meeting was called after the working committee of the Bar led by its chair met with CJ Rana today. It was decided after this meeting that the full-court would convene at 1:30 pm on Monday.

A Bar official shared that the CJ has assured the group of clarifying all doubts and allegations against him following his involvement in the recent controversies. Furthermore, Rana apparently asserted that he had no hands behind the appointment of his brother in law Gajendra Hamal as a minister in Deuba-cabinet.

Likewise, during the meeting, the assignment of cases to judges on a draw-basis was also discussed, which is slated to begin from Tuesday.
