KATHMANDU, JUNE 15

Coca-Cola Beverages Nepal, in association with the implementing team from Splash Nepal, has handed over the Rainwater Harvesting, Groundwater Recharge and clean drinking water project to Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyala.

The collaborative project which commenced on May 23 had successfully concluded on June 8 with a handover event held at Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalaya to commemorate World Environment month.

Catering to over 1,200 students with both day scholars and residential students, Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalaya is one of the reputed Nepali Army welfare run schools where water is required for day-to-day activities.

Through the project, two UF Filter systems along with drinking water supply in 12 taps of bottle fillers and eight Bubbler Faucet taps attached with four water stations with dual spouts respectively, have been installed in the facility.

The system will benefit over 2,500 people. The expected volume of potential water recharge through the project is 435,400 litres annually.

Alongside the project, a motivational and awareness session on Rainwater Harvesting and Groundwater recharge was conducted in the school. Likewise, a training session for maintenance of filtration system by the school was also provided.
