CoAS Chhetri leaving for China tomorrow

Kathmandu, March 25

Chief of Army Staff Rajendra Chhetri is leaving for a week-long visit to China on Sunday at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart General Fang Fenghui.

Directorate of Public Relations of Nepali Army today said General Chhetri is leading an eight-member delegation, which includes his wife Rita Chhetri and Major General Himalayan Thapa. He is set to return home on April 2.

Besides holding bilateral talks with General Fang, he will inspect various military infrastructures and meet senior Chinese military officials.

This is his first visit to the northern neighbour after being appointed the chief of Nepali Army in September.

Last month, he had embarked on a week-long visit to India, which was his maiden foreign trip as the head of the national force. Nepali Army hopes that his visit would help strengthen and deepen the cordial relations between the two countries.
