College student missing

Kathmandu, May 4 :

A certificate-level student of Chabahil-based Pashupati Multiple Campus, Kedar Khatiwada, is missing since April 2.

Dhruba Khatiwoda, brother of Kedar, told this daily today that Kedar went missing while en route to college.

Kedar, a native of Lamidanda, Dolakha, was living in a rented room at Bagbazaar and also used to work as a newspaper hawker.

“In search of his whereabouts, we moved the National Human Rights Commission, Bhaktapur ward police office and the Singh Durbar ward police office, but none has been able to find him,” Dhruba said.

Describing Kedar as a simple boy with no inclination for or involvement in politics, Dhruba said: “We went to police stations thinking security agencies might have taken him into custody on suspicion of being a Maoist or radical political activist.”
