Complaint filed against ex-CJ Parajuli

KATHMANDU: A complaint has been filed by a journalist, Madan Bhandari, against former Chief Justice Gopal Parajuli at the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Circle today.

Bhandari, a resident of Gulmi, had filed the complaint stating that the former CJ has corrected his date of birth in his citizenship and his educational certificates have been forged, demanding investigation into the legal documents, according to Mohan Thapa, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the Circle.

However, according to Thapa, the complaint is yet to be registered. "We are yet to decide on registering the complaint and will consider it tomorrow on return of the Metropolitan Police Circle's chief who was off duty today."

"The 30-year old complainant has left the complaint letter at the office which is currently under consideration. No action has been taken yet," added DSP Thapa.

The Judicial Council on March 14 wrote a letter to Chief Justice Gopal Parajuli, stating that he was no more the chief justice, as he had exceeded his retirement age.
