KATHMANDU: Police on Wednesday arrested a man who swindled gold ornaments from the New Mahalaxmi jewellery Shop in Lokanthali of Thimi Municipality-16.

Rajiv Acharya (24) of Bhotsipa-8, Sindhupalchok district, currently residing at Pepsicola, was arrested from Gairigaun of Tinkune.

Acharya had been absconding after swindling seven tola gold from the jewelly shop owned by Ganesh Darnali, police said.

Police said that they have confiscated five tola gold from Acharya's possession.
