Condolences pour in for BS211 crash victims
KATHMANDU: Condolences have been pouring in for the victims of the ill-fated aircraft crash that claimed the lives of 49 people while injuring 22 others, today.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Vice-president Nanda Bahadur Pun have expressed sorrow over the death of passengers and crew members, while wishing for speedy recovery of those injured in the incident.
Likewise, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had reached the crash site to take stock of the incident and had offered condolences to the bereaved families while wishing for the speedy recovery of the injured.
PM Oli was accompanied by Defense Minister Ishwar Pokhrel and Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa.
Later, Nepali Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel too visited the site and offered his condolences.
Similary, NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba and CPN Maoist Centre Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal have also extended sympathy towards the victims.
Meanwhile, President of India, Ram Nath Kovind also offered condolences to the bereaved families and further said, "We in India stand by the people of Nepal and Bangladesh."
The US Bangla Airline BS211 crashed on landing at the Tribhuwan International Airport at 2:18 pm on Monday.
