KATHMANDU, JANUARY 28
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has stated that the confusion among the three tiers of government will gradually dissipate.
"Ambiguity over the exclusive and concurrent rights of the local, provincial, and federal governments will cease to exist once the draft of work enlargement is finalized," added the PM.
PM Dahal made these remarks during a high-level discussion on the draft report regarding the revision of work expansion and enlargement among national and sub-national governments.
Considering the constitutional rights and sensitivities of all three governments, the revision on work enlargement is expected to enhance service delivery and clarify rights, contributing to the federal system, he further added.
"The draft is based on experience, practice, and suggestions," PM Dahal emphasized, asserting that it was prepared after consulting experts and considering the experiences of federal countries.
The report will be endorsed by the national coordination committee, with attention also given to the capacity of the three-layered governments.
PM Dahal expressed his belief that overlapping and ambiguity among the three tiers of government will be eradicated.
The discussion was attended by Deputy Prime Ministers, chairs of thematic committees of the National Assembly and House of Representatives, various party leaders, the chief secretary, secretaries, and experts.
