Congress leader Bastola's health improving
KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader Chakra Prasad Bastola, who was admitted to the Neuro Hospital in Bansbari last Thursday after chest-related complications, has been showing some improvement in his health.
Bastola is currently put on a ventilator at the hospital, according to neurosurgeon Pratush Shrestha, who has been involved in the treatment, adding he still needs to be put under observation at the ICU for the next few days.
Leader Bastola has been rendered unconscious after he suffered a brain haemorrhage while attending an event in Biratnagar five years ago. Since then he is on a liquid diet fed through a feeding-pipe
He was also treated for 15 days at the ICU of the hospital some three months back, according to his wife Kusum Bastola.
The health condition of Bastola is improving. However, it would be early to say anything concrete as every day is challenging, Shrestha said.
Earlier this morning, NC General Secretary Shashank Koirala reached the hospital to acquire information about the health condition of leader Bastola, according to his personal assistant Radha Krishna Kafley.
