Constitutional bench continues hearing on writ against house dissolution; records of constitutional drafts sought
KATHMANDU: The constitutional bench of the Supreme Court led by Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana continued hearing on the case filed against the dissolution of the House of Representatives, today.
During today's hearing, an advocate demanded written records of the discussions held in constituent assembly during the constitution-drafting process. To this, Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana has shown readiness to ask for the record, if necessary.
The SC on Friday passed the order that the constitutional bench would adjudicate the HoR cases after hearing arguments of the 13 petitioners and the defendants.
The bench said the case could not be referred to a grand full bench as it needs to settle serious constitutional issues.
