348,000 doses of Covid vaccines received

KATHMANDU, MARCH 7

The delivery of Covid-19 vaccines under the COVAX facility, an international initiative coordinated by the World Health Organization and partners, has arrived in Nepal.

Under the programme, 348,000 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine have been unloaded at Tribhuvan International Airport in the capital city. Minister for Health Hridayesh Tripathi, on behalf of the Government, received the vaccines at the airport.

Nepal is getting a total of 13,000,000 doses of AstraZeneca/Oxford vaccine produced by the Serum Institute of India under the COVAX facility, of which the first batch including the aforementioned doses arrived today.

Vaccines received under the COVAX facility will be administered to people above 55 years of age.
