CPN-UML looks to form new government including MC and Madhes based Parties

KATHMANDU: With the unofficial discussions vis-a-vis merger between CPN-UML and CPN-Maoist Centre going on, CPN-UML has initiated homework to form a new government led by CPN-UML and inclusive of CPN-MC and other Madhes based parties.

According to CPN UML's Committee Member Shankar Pokharel, as per the discussions held by top leaders of the party, a government including the participation of Rastriya Janata Party and Federal Socialist Forum would add vigor to economic prosperity and government's effectiveness.

In this backdrop, CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli and Forum Chair Upendra Yadav have held a discussion recently.

The meeting has drawn speculations of crack in the leftist alliance because of CPN UML's proposal of inclusion of Madhes based parties in the soon-to-be-formed government.

However, Pokharel downplayed the speculations of differences among top leaders of the alliance and claimed," There are no differences pertaining to party merger and government formation. If anything comes up, the leaders are comfortable enough to solve the issue through talks."

"In the case of no merger between parties, we can set responsibilities and leaders can take Prime Ministerial berth in turns," Pokharel said.
