UML to demolish Balkhu building in 3 months

KATHMANDU: The ruling CPN-UML said it would demolish its former central office in Balkhu that was significantly damaged in the devastating earthquake last year, within three months.

For this, a contractor has been selected by the fourth meeting of the party’s Office Management Task Force led by Secretary Pradeep Gyawali held today in the Central Party Office, Dhumbahari.

In a statement issued today, the party informed that Shree Ram Shrestha of Maitighar would be assigned to demolish the building.

His proposal was selected among the 18 the party received while it called for its applications to demolish the building and clear the land plot within three months.

Shrestha had bidden the highest amount of Rs 3.1 million in apropos to the public announcement made by the party on May 24.

The statement further states that Shrestha has been called to at the party office to proceed with the agreement.
