CPN-UML urges EC to extend deadline for voters roll update
KATHMANDU: The main opposition party CPN-UML has drawn the attention of the Election Commission to extend the deadline for updating voters name list and adopt appropriate process for the same.
A team led by Deputy Parliamentary Leader of the party Subas Nembang held a meeting with the Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhee Prasad Yadav in Kantipath and demanded to make arrangement on updating voters roll viewing their facilities and concerns.
Urging the Commission to complete all elections within January 21 next year, the party suggested forming a committee after ending the uncertainty seen in formation of District Coordination Committee under local-level of the districts, where local polls has already taken place.
The party also gave a positive response to the initiative of Commission regarding government's dilly-dallying in formation of Electoral Constituency Determination Commission and formulating laws related to elections.
