KATHMANDU: Pari Thapa-led CPN-Unified and Mohan Baidya-led CPN-Maoist have decided to merge.

A Party Unity Coordination Committee meeting held on Tuesday had decided to merge as both the parties have common ideology and political issues.

CPN-Maoist had splitted from Pushpa Kamal Dahal-led UCPN-Maoist while CPN-Unified had severed ties with Mohan Bikram Singh-led CPN Unity Centre-Masal.

It has been learned that an assembly has been called on November 8 to merge the parties officially.
