Idol lifters arrested

KATHMANDU: Police on Thursday evening raided a vehicle and arrested two persons in possession of idols. The duo has been identified as driver Kamal Prasad Khatiwada (27) and Bashudev Acharya (28), residents of Makawanpur-7. A special squad of police had conducted the check on the Kathmandu-bound Tata Mobile from Hetauda at Pharping Bus Park, acting on a tip off served by an eyewitness. The police have recovered three idols of Manjushree, Aryatara and Buddha.

Drug peddlers nabbed

KATHMANDU: Police on Thursday nabbed two drug peddlers separately in Sundhara, Kathmandu. Jagan Mohan Murali Shetty of Hyderabad, India and Ranjan Prasad Jaisawal (41), hailing from Motihari, India, were held with 300 grams of the substance, police said.
