Police constable stabbed to death

KATHMANDU: A police constable Bishnu Rana Magar was allegedly stabbed to death by two ‘drug addicts’ at the Teku Dovan while the former was trying to arrest them on Tuesday evening. Magar, posted in Kalimati for over a year now, was in plainclothes when he was allegedly stabbed by one Surrendra Maharjan, 22, a resident of Lalitpur Sub-Metropolitan City (LSMC)-4, Jawalakhel, and Samriddha Gurung, 22, of LSMC-5, Dhobighat, at around 5 pm.

Both the culprits were allegedly consuming drugs at the Teku Dovan. According to Inspector Uttam Subedi, the two have been charged of murder and investigation is on. Magar’s body has been taken to Teaching Hospital for post mortem. Magar is survived by two children and a wife in Chitwan. — HNS

One hurt in attack

KATHMANDU: A resident of KMC-31, Dinesh Karki, 18, was injured when he was attacked by another person, Suresh, at the gate of Shivapuri secondary school, Baluwatar. He was attacked with a sharp weapon and has sustained injuries to his head. He is receiving treatment at TU Teaching Hospital. — HNS

Property looted

KATHMANDU: Property worth Rs 67,000 was looted from the rented room of Sanak Lama at Prayag Pokhari, Lalitput sub-metropolitan city-12.Some unidentified persons broke into Lama’s room at 9.30 pm on Monday and robbed the place. — HNS

Man dies

KATHMANDU: A person in his forties died while undergoing treatment at the Bir Hospital. It is said he has identified as Rate from Dhading district who was living at Chhetrapati. But the report has not been verified.He was found unconscious on the Chhetrapati road at about 5pm and was taken to the hospital. Police is investigating the case. — HNS
