Property stolen
Kathmandu: Property worth Rs 859,250 was stolen from the house of Shanta Shrestha at Sitapaila-4, Kathmandu, yesterday, police said. Thieves broke the iron grill and entered the house. They made away with 33 tolas of gold jewellery, Rs 40,000, three diamond rings, two diamond earrings, one diamond set, one pearl set, one camera and three wrist watches. — HNS
One lakh looted
KATHMANDU: A group of five unidentified persons looted property worth Rs 108,000 from the house of Bijay Kumar Jajodiya at Baphal, Kathmandu, early on Wednesday, police said.
According to the police, the group broke into the house through the main gate and decamped with cash and valuables worth Rs 108,000. — HNS
Two held
KATHMANDU: The Metropolitan Police held two persons while trying to extort money from a restaurateur in guise of Maoists at KMC-15. Police said they held Ramesh Tamang, 20, and Min Bahadur Tamang, 21, of Chitwan while they were threatening Bijay Shrestha, manager of Nataraj Restaurant. — HNS
