Robbers’ held :

KATHMANDU: Three members of a group were arrested from Baluwatar on Monday while they were planning to carry out robberies in the valley, SP at the Valley Crime Investigation Branch, Hanumandhoka, said, adding three others, Bipin Thapa Magar, Riddi Tamrakar and Jitu Chalaune of the group, who were also involved in laying the plan, are absconding. The arrested were identified as Nepali Army deserter Ganga Adhikari, 30, of Parbat, Bikash Chandra Poudel, 27 and Bishnu Pandey, 26. A countrymade pistol, a US-made revolver, a sword, an iron rod, and a knife were seized from the group. In another case, police arrested Kishore Dangol, 25, Mahandra Rana Magar, 25, Saroj Shrestha, 25, from Nayabazaar, while they were making plans for carrying out robberies. — HNS

Killer nabbed :

KATHMANDU: Police on Monday arrested Krishna Joshi on the charge of murdering Madhav Narayan Banepali, 47, at Datrataya, Bhaktapur municipality-3, a year ago. According to police, Rajan Limbu and three others, who were caught while looting Guna Cooperative Finance Pvt Ltd at Lalitpur on Sunday, had told police during interrogation that they had masterminded and executed the murder. — HNS
