crime watch : House-help, aide nabbed for stealing

Kathmandu, July 13:
The police yesterday nabbed a domestic helper, Devi Thapa, and her younger brother on the charge of stealing property worth Rs 1.55 lakh from the house of Deepak Adhikari at Ichangunarayan VDC, Kathmandu.
Devi, who had earlier said a thief had tied her up against the wall of the house and carried
out the theft, revealed during interrogation that she had masterminded the plot.
Adhikari, an officer at the Kathmandu Kathmandu Metropolitan City, had lodged a complaint
at the Valley Crime Investigation Branch, Hanumandhoka, stating that a thief had stolen cash and valuables from his house after overpowering the domestic helper.
“During interrogation, Devi said she had masterminded the theft and asked her younger brother to take away cash and other valuables,” the police said.
The police have seized the stolen goods and cash.
