KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 2

The Dahal-Nepal faction of ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has submitted their claim on party authenticity to the Election Commission, on Tuesday.

Co-chairs of the NCP splinter group Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Madhav Kumar Nepal, along with other leaders, visited the Commission today to officially submit the claim.

The faction has stated that they have submitted the claim document in line with Section 44 of the Political Party Act.

On Monday, the group had decided to write a letter to the Election Commission claiming that they were the authentic NCP. If the EC decides in their favour, they can use the NCP flag and poll symbol.
