KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 4
A general strike called by Dahal-Nepal faction of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has affected the normal life in Kathmandu valley today.
It has been learnt that authorities have arrested strike enforcers from various locations in the capital amid tightened security. A taxi was set to fire while a few vehicles were vandalised in the early hours today.
Movement of public vehicles is being seen lesser than normal days while motorcycles were seen in larger numbers as compared to other vehicles plying the roads.

The Ministry of Home Affairs, on Wednesday, had issued a notice urging all against the strike and asked people to go about their daily lives as usual. The Ministry also claimed that adequate security will be enforced to maintain peace and safety.
Most grocery stores and cafes beside the roads are seen open.
Meanwhile, ride-sharing platforms are also seen operational today.
