KATHMANDU: Three people accused of torturing Kalli Kumari BK will be produced in the district court on Saturday. BK was tortured for allegedly practicing witchcraft.

Dhan Kumari Sunuwar, member of National Women Commission, informed that the police had arrested the culprits on April 22 and would be prosecuted under the Public Offence Act.

Sunuwar, however, said the Lalitpur CDO was reluctant to arrest Bimala Lama, head mistress of Gadi Bhanjyang Primary School, who forced BK to eat her own faeces.

BK is recently living under the protection of Maiti Nepal where she was provided Rs 25,000 from Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.
