Kathmandu, April 19:
The ANNFSU today demanded the five political parties to declare Mohammed Mansir Ansari, Rautahat district committee member of the CPN (UML) and the president of Rautahat unit of All Nepal Peasants’ Association, as the first martyr of the ongoing five-party movement against regression after he died yesterday of injuries sustained during the anti-regression rally on April 10. Ansari had suffered head injury and was injured by the teargas fired by the police at Bhotahity on April 10 while taking part in a rally defying the government’s ban on rallies. He returned back to his home town after basic medical treatment but was again hospitalised later and expired yesterday afternoon while undergoing treatment. All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU), Rautahat-Kathmandu liaison committee, today
expressed deep sorrow over his demise and expressed its deepest sympathy to his family.
Anil Kumar Mishra, president of the committee, said that the students would fight till the movement achieves its goal. “The government will have to pay a heavy price for the death,” he warned.
