Demand for new bus route

Thimi, April 11:
One has to change at least two buses to reach Bouddha from Bhaktapur and that takes quite a lot of time, but once public vehicles start plying along the Bode, Neel Barahi, Jorpati route, the travel time and cost is sure to reduce and this would make travelling easier as compared to the existing.
For making this route operate, Ratna Man Chandyou, the ward chairman of Madhyapur Thimi municipality-2 has been putting in all his efforts. "The officials of the City Yatayat — plying along the Kathmandu-Bouddha-Jorpati route — and the Purano Bato Minibus Entrepreneurs Association — plying along the Kathmandu-Purano Thimi- Bhaktapur route — are positive
on beginning the new route but some problems are yet to be solved," he said. Chandyou also informed that buses would begin plying along the new route immediately after the government provides permission for such. Rajan Kasalawat, president of the Bhaktapur Minibus Entrepreneurs Association said the people of Bhaktapur have been demanding the route for years but the differences between the bus entrepreneurs had delayed the service. "If minibuses ply in the new route, people can reach Gaushala faster and in cheaper price. People are compelled to travel a longer route and therefore wasting time," he added.
Kasalawat also informed that the proposed new route was about five kilometres shorter than the existing one.
