KATHMANDU, MARCH 17

The Development and Technology Committee of the House of Representatives will be discussing infrastructure projects such as Kathmandu-Tarai fast track, Melamchi water supply project, and the outer ring road with organisations and representatives concerned in its upcoming meetings.

The first meeting of the committee was held today after the reinstatement of the HoR. It has planned to discuss projects that directly impact people. In its next meet, the committee plans to sit with representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Nepali Army to discuss the fast-track, according to committee Under-secretary Om Bahadur Karki.

"The meeting will be held on 21 or 22 March. Melamchi project and the outer ring road projects are the agenda of the meet," he said. The participants in the meet sought discussion on the most pressing development issues.

The previous meet of the committee was held on December 17 and the House was dissolved on December 20, which was later reinstated after the Supreme Court's verdict on February 23. The first meeting after reinstatement of the HoR was attended only by the committee members and the next round of meetings will have the participation of representatives from the related ministries and organisations as well.
