Today's meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) is underway.
HoR's last session had taken place on March 16. The meeting had shortly ended after passing a condolence motion on the demise of former Constituent Assembly member Dinesh Chandra Yadav.
Likewise, Speaker of the Lower House Agni Prasad Sapkota informed the House of its decision to nominate lawmakers Dila Sagraula Panta, Rekha Sharma, Renu Kumari Yadav, Lal Babu Pandit, Radha Kumari Gyawali, Man Bahadur Bishwakarma, and Som Prasad Pandey to run its proceedings in absence of the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker.
The Lower House of the federal parliament, which was dissolved with the unilateral decision of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on December 20, had been reinstated on February 23.
Constitutional bench of the Supreme Court, in its landmark verdict, reinstated the HoR, invalidating PM Oli led government's decision to dismantle the House. The apex court had ordered the government to call the new session of the parliament within 13 days from the verdict.
