DG Rup Narayan Bhattarai not transferred: Minister Mahaseth
KATHMANDU: Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Raghubir Mahaseth, has clarified that the Department of Transport Management (DoTM) Director General Rup Narayan Bhattarai has not been transferred.
"DG Bhattarai has been called to the Ministry for some work, however, he has not been transferred," Minister added.
Speaking at an interaction programmee in Kathmandu, on Tuesday, Minister Mahaseth said, "DG Bhattarai played significant roles in dismantling rampant transport syndicate in the country. He also thanked media, security agencies and people for helping government in ending syndicate."
"Ending transport syndicate was not the issue of Prime Minister or Minister Mahaseth, it was a government agenda," Minister shared.
Government will form a task force to make transport sector more efficient and effective in the coming days.
Minister Mahaseth further said that there are plenty more syndicate in license, blue book among others in the transport sector. All the existing problem in the transportation would be managed by the end of fiscal year.
The polices and programmes of the government has also given top priority for the construction of bridges, tunnel along the highways.
Minister also urged the main opposition party to play positive roles in attaining the goals set by the polices and programmes forwarded by the leftist government yesterday.
