KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 30

The government has sent a diplomatic note to India over the death of a 10-year-old boy from Darchula district after he was hit by a stone on his head in course of road construction in the opposite side- Dharchula area of Uttarakhand, India.

Spokesperson at the Foreign Ministry, Sewa Lamsal, informed that the government sent the diplomatic note to India via the Indian Embassy based in Kathmandu on Sunday.

The Home Ministry on Saturday had urged the Foreign Ministry to make necessary coordination and initiatives for proper compensation to the victim family, and adoption of safety precaution during construction works.

The Home Ministry informed that 10-year-old son of Hikmat Mahara, Pawan, from Dumling village of Byas Rural Municipality-2 was killed after he was hit by a stone on his head.

The stone was hurled from the blasting made for upgradation of road at Dharchula area of Uttarakhand, India opposite the incident site on October 28.
