Kathmandu, September 16:

Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, Mahanta Thakur, today handed over wheelchairs and canes to physically disabled persons and feted different personalities with the Rastriya Nagarik Sewa Samman.

At a programme organised by the National Civil Society, Thakur handed over three wheelchairs to three children — Bharat BC, Shanta Bhat and Prema Lama — and white canes to visually impaired Laxmi Nepal, Sabitri Karki, Sanjeev Tamang, Gargi Nepal and Mitra Prasad Tiwari.

He also felicitated 21 personalities, including Januka Giri, Sharmila Kayastha, Tilak

Ranabhat and Jyoti Singh, with the Nagarik Sewa Samman for their contribution to their respective fields.
