Discussion on weeklies’ poor show

The increasing number of dailies and lack of proper management were pointed out to be the major causes of the decline in the sale of weekly papers by participants at an interaction today. They also said that as most of the weekly papers were politically biased, the readership was also biased depending on their loyalties.
Former editor of Deshantar Prakash Adhikari was concerned over non-graduates entering the field and harming the profession. Dristi sub-editor Babu Ram Dhakal said that majority of the weeklies were facing a financial crisis as "we do not get as many advertisements as the dailies".
