KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 2

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, has pledged to encourage youths to remain in the country through the promotion of good governance.

During his address at the inaugural session of the joint celebration of Radio Sandesh and Nikas Daily's birth anniversaries in Hetauda today, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed his commitment to ensuring job opportunities for the youth within the country, along with the assurance of good governance.

He mentioned that the government would initiate a campaign to create employment opportunities for the youth within the nation.

As Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha emphasized, good governance is essential for advancing towards prosperity, especially when corruption has afflicted the country. He urged everyone to cooperate with the government's efforts to establish good governance, saying, "We must create an atmosphere that encourages those working hard in the Gulf to return home."

He also explained that the government's decision to postpone the decoration of honors and medals was aimed at removing irregularities in the selection of nominees, ensuring fairness and transparency in the process.

Home Minister Shrestha stated that this decision was made because the dignity of the medals was being diminished due to situations of 'buy and sell' between the medal recipients and the recommending bodies.

Ganga Narayan Shrestha, Minister for Internal Affairs and Law in Bagmati province, mentioned that legal issues have prevented the provincial government from incorporating the 100-watt radio.

However, he reiterated the provincial government's readiness for the development and promotion of mass communication media. He also emphasized that alongside regulation, communication media would be encouraged for betterment.
