Dr Govinda KC makes public his certificates
Kathmandu, February 21
Senior orthopaedic surgeon at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital Dr Govinda KC has made public original copies of his school leaving character certificate and citizenship amid allegations that his date of birth in these certificates did not match.
Organising a press meet on the premises of Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital today, he claimed his date of birth in the SLC character certificate and citizenship did not match due to technical error.
As per Dr KC’s citizenship certificate, his date of birth is October 12, 1926, while his SLC character certificate mentions his date of birth as February 6, 1926.
On the other hand, Dr KC’s application for promotion mentions December 12, 1926 as his date of birth.
“Different dates of birth have appeared in my documents due to technical and human error. The allegation that I changed my date of birth for promotion is false. I was unknown about it till now, but I will try to correct the error.”
He also claimed that the issue was being blown out of proportion to divert public attention from his demand for resignation of Chief Justice Gopal Parajuli. Dr KC has also challenged the chief justice to make public his citizenship certificate.
“I initiated the campaign against the chief justice for good governance and accountability. Our struggle will not be affected by such rumours,” he said.
