Dr Govinda KC seeks information on Parajuli’s citizenship

Kathmandu, January 31

Dr Govinda KC, a senior orthopaedic surgeon at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, today filed an application under Right to Information Act at District Administration Office, Kathmandu, seeking information about Chief Justice Gopal Parajuli’s citizenship. Dr KC has accused CJ Parajuli of obtaining three citizenship certificates.

In the application, Dr KC has asked to provide copies of the citizenship of CJ Parajuli, related recommendations submitted for acquiring citizenship and his academic certificates.

Dr KC has registered the application stating that the constitution of the country had provided rights to each and every individual to seek and obtain information held by public agencies on any matter of public importance. Dr KC said the documents were required for a case against him in the Supreme Court.

“Dr KC has filed the application and we have started searching for the documents. As the documents aren’t on database, we need some time to find the papers,” said Chief District Officer Kedar Nath Sharma.
