Duo held for Thamel robbery

KATHMANDU: Two persons were nabbed on the charge of robbing a pedestrian of Rs 15,000 cash in Thamel of Kathmandu district on Thursday.

The arrestees have been identified as Barsha Tamang (30) of Ramechhap and Manita Lama (20) of Kavre, both currently living in Lazimpat.

Police informed that both suspects were members of the sexual minority.

The incident had taken place last night in the Capital's major tourist hub.

The duo had robbed Satya Ghale of the cash while he was walking past the Employees Provident Fund Office.

A police team from the Lainchaur-based Metropolitan Police Circle had immediately taken the alleged offenders under control while they were running away with the cash.

Police are further investigating into the case.
