KATHMANDU: An unidentified gang robbed two persons of Rs 50,000 with the promise of exchanging Nepali currency with US dollars at a cheaper rate.

The incident occurred in Ramkot of Nagarjun Municipality-9 on Saturday. Prakash Tamang and Ram Krishna Tamang, permanent residents of Dhading, currently living in Swayambhu, were robbed. Police said a gang of three men cheated the duo.After the robbery, the motorcyclists fled the scene.

Police have taken the motorcycles under control for further investigation.
