Kathmandu, March 30:

Speaker Subhas Nembang today inaugurated the first national conference of organisations working for senior citizens.

Addressing the first day of the two-day conference, Nembang said the facilities and services provided by the government to senior citizens are limited to monthly pensions. Senior citizens’ suggestions and prositive pressure would help the government in effectively implementing policies, he said.

Representatives of over 40 organisations from Kathmandu and various districts are participating in the meet. “The conclusions drawn in the conference would be forwarded to the authorities concerned,” said Dr Leela Devi KC, the president of the National Senior Citizen Organisation Network, Nepal.
