KATHMANDU: A woman was burned to death as a shanty caught fire in Nagarkot of Bhaktapur on Sunday evening.

Champa Pandey (85), a resident of Dandagaun, Nagarkot Municipality-6, succumbed to burn injuries as the hut she was living in caught fire yesterday, police said.

The elderly woman had made the fire to make the room warm, according to police.

The body has been taken to the Bhaktapur Hospital for postmortem.
