EC addresses over 10,000 voters' grievances through call centre

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission has addressed complaints of around 10,000 voters through its call centre based in the premises of the Commission itself.

The centre addressed a total of 10,469 voters’ issues on local level, House of Representatives and State Assemblies elections, said computer officer at EC Shreeram Chhetri.

As many as 4,502 complaints were concerned with the voter name list, 2,512 were related to voter education, 269 were about code of conduct, 222 related to voting process, 89 about the EC website, seven were about security and 2,866 have been categorised as others.

For the first time in its history, the constitutional body had brought the call center into operation to deal with public grievances.

The center was operated from April 28 to December 15.
