KATHMANDU: The Election Commission has returned 44 vehicles used for election purpose to various bodies under the government including the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.

The government bodies to which the vehicles have been given back include the Office of Vice-president, the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority, the Office of Attorney General, and the ministries.

The vehicles which were used for the three-tier elections and elections of President and Vice President have been returned to their owners following the conclusion of the elections, said EC's Secretary Begendra Raj Sharma Poudyal at a programme.
