Engineer booked for bribery
KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Wednesday filed a corruption case at the Special Court against Shubha Narayan Yadav, an engineer at the Water-Induced Disaster Prevention Division Office, Bhaktapur.
In the charge sheet, the engineer is accused of taking Rs 35,000 as a kickback for releasing a budget to Bhanjyang Landslide Control Consumers' Committee of Changunarayan Municipality.
The Commission took Yadav into custody with subsequent investigation establishing the fact that he was involved in an act of corruption.
The Commission has sought legal action against accused Yadav as per the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2002.
