KATHMANDU, MAY 20

The Delegation of the European Union to Nepal has welcomed 21 Ambassadors and representatives from EU Member States based in New Delhi for their annual Heads of Mission (HoM) visit to Nepal. The three-day mission, taking place from May 19 to 21, brings together the visiting envoys with EU Ambassadors resident in Nepal under the "Team Europe" spirit.

The visit is aimed at deepening understanding of Nepal's development priorities and highlighting areas of cooperation. The programme includes high-level meetings, field visits, and interactions with a wide range of Nepali stakeholders, from government officials and civil society to the media and private sector leaders.

During the visit, the Ambassadors held discussions with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Minister for Foreign Affairs Narayan Prakash Saud, focusing on both domestic and foreign policy matters. They are also engaging with civil society organisations, high-level representatives of the private sector, and members of the media.

Field visits include stops at the Nepal Electricity Authority, prominent tech and creative companies, and historic cultural sites in Patan and Bhaktapur. These engagements aim to provide EU Member States with a broader perspective on Nepal's political, economic, and social dynamics.

The visit also focuses on advancing shared priorities, including climate action and green growth, good governance, innovation, and inclusive development. The EU Delegation will share highlights from the mission through its social media platforms under the handle @EUinNepal.
