Events to mark Civil Service Day

Unlike every year, the Ministry of General Administration has decided to celebrate the 23rd Civil Service Day by holding different programmes.

Under secretary at the ministry Srijana Tiwari said a decision was taken to celebrate the day with a commitment to help flood victims of 26 districts, which suffered huge loss of lives and property due to flooding and landslides.

Tiwari said programmes like health camps, relief distribution and afforestation,among others, would be conducted to provide relief to the flood victims and control such incidents in future.

Accordingly, the Civil Service Hospital will run health camp in Rautahat on Tuesday and in Sankhu of Lalitpur on Wednesday for flood-affected people.Similarly, an essay writing competition on the theme ‘Roleof Civil Servants in Disaster Management’ will be organised on the occasion.

The 23rd Civil Service Day is being marked on September 7 with the slogan ‘Commitment of the Civil Servants: Transparency and Efficiency’.
