Eye health experts’ meet kicks off

Kathmandu, December 9

A technical eye health expert group meeting of the Southeast Regional Meeting kicked off  here today.

Some 40 health experts from the South East Asia Region are attending the four-day meeting organised by Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology with financial and technical support of the World Health Organisation and International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness.

According to a press release issued by the hospital, the participants at the meeting will discuss the existing eye care service delivery systems in the region. It is expected that the meeting will be a benchmark for formulating important suggestions to prepare a road map to achieve the goal of universal eye health coverage in the region, reads the release.

Eye experts will also be discussing technical guidelines for retina services for the region during the meet.
