KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Tuesday filed a charge sheet at the Special Court against a Head Constable of Nepal Police for using a fake academic certificate to get the job.

The accused has been identified as Head Constable Bhimsen Basnet, who is currently deployed at the Nepal Police Headquarters. According to the CIAA, the SLC certificate that Basnet submitted during the recruitment process was fake.

The anti-graft constitutional body has sought maximum punishment against Basnet as per the existing laws.
