Family in mourning after Kamala’s death in blast
Kathmandu, September 4:
A mother of three, Kamala Devi Shahi, 56, had died during the Sunday’s blast at a microbus in Balaju. Some 16 others were also injured during the blast.
Kamala, as described by her husband Pancha Bahadur Shahi, was religious in nature and used to visit the Swoyambhunath temple frequently. “She was devoted to the Buddhist religion lately,” Pancha said.
On Sunday, she was returning home from Ason after buying goods for her family. Unfortunately, the bomb planted by an unidentified group blew off the microbus she was travelling in.
A housewife residing at Machhapokhari of Balaju, Kalamla is survived by her husband, two daughters and a son. Just six months ago, she had got a grandson. Following her sudden departure, all her family members are in grief and have begun several rituals. Her last rites were performed at the Pashupati Aryaghat yesterday.
“We don’t want such an incident to happen to anybody. We have been living with tears since the incident occurred,” said her son Bijay Shahi.
