Final results of NBA poll today

KATHMANDU: The finals results of the eagerly anticipated Nepal Bar Association (NBA) poll will be known tomorrow, election commissioner and advocate Ravi Raj Bhandari, said here today.

He said that the results would be broadcast tomorrow after the counting of the ballots of the Kathmandu Valley concludes tomorrow.

Of the 2,748 votes counted until today, the democratic panel’s presidential candidate Prem Bahadur Khadka has polled 1,358 votes against 951 garnered by his rival Hari Krishna Karki of the progressive panel. While the revolutionary panel has polled 345 votes.

Likewise, independent presidential candidates Matrika Prasad Niraula, Ram Kumar Yadav and Madan Mohan Chaudhary have garnered 7, 61 and 26 votes, respectively.

The democratic panel led by Joharilal Chaudhari, vice-presidential candidate for the Far-Western region, has polled the highest number of votes with 1,478 in all. Results made known so far showed that the democratic panel candidates are ahead in the NBA poll.
