KATHMANDU: Five Additional Inspector General (AIG)s of Armed Police Force have submitted their resignation, en masse, following the government's decision to demote them from their ranks to the post of Deputy Inspector General (DIG).

The Oli government, on Wednesday, had decided to revert the decisions taken by the then Deuba Government after implementation of election code of conduct.

Deuba government had promoted the APF personnel to the post of AIG on Jan 29.

AIGs Janaki Raj Bhattarai, Subodh Kumar Adhikari, Nirakar Bikram Shah, Khadananda Chaudhary and Rajesh Shrestha submitted their resignation of the APF Chief, IGP Shailendra Khanal on Thursday.
