Five drug smuggling suspects held with huge cache of controlled drugs

KATHMANDU: A special police team deployed from the Narcotics Control Bureau arrested five persons in possession of various controlled pharmaceutical drugs from assorted locations of Kathmandu Valley.

Three suspects have been identified as Chhiring Lama (23), Milan Lama (27) and Bijaya Tamang (33), permanent residents of Sindupalchok district. They were currently residing in Jorpati of Kathmandu.

They were arrested on Wednesday in possession of 742 ampoules of three controlled drugs.

Similarly, the NCB also arrested two suspected drug smugglers from Lalitpur on Thursday.

Subarna Kunwar (28) of Panauti in Kavre district, currently residing in Thaiba of Lalitpur and Abik Thapa (18) of Gundu in Bhaktapur district were arrested.

Police seized 105 tablets of controlled pharmaceutical drugs from them.

Meanwhile, police said they are investigating into both the cases.
